About Me – The “Jul” in Jultap Productions
I have always been one of those creative, type-A, perfectionist, up-at-all-hours self-proclaimed nerds who sees life as something between a term paper and an exciting musical adventure. As a child, I alphabetized my book collection, fashioned doll clothes out of tissue and tape, recorded radio shows with my best friend on my purple boom box and transformed my cardboard playhouse into a time machine (specifically a TARDIS for all you Doctor Who fans). During my enigmatic teen years, I spent my free time and summers writing poetry, choreographing routines for my dance trio Tappers in Street Clothes and managing a homemade doll business (this is no joke—I sold over 50 dolls!).
By the time I was in college I realized my dream of becoming a famous dancer was probably not going to happen, so, of course, I set my sights on television! Armed with two TV internships, two years of freelance production work, and this great black suit with large mirrored buttons, I landed the job of dreams at The Oprah Winfrey Show. I settled into a nice place on the Audience Team and grew with it till the end of the show. There I booked and managed massive audiences in the studio and other locations, maintaining that 5-star customer service protocol. I wrote on-air and online plugs to attract and book specific audiences. And then I really started utilizing all that crazy creative energy and my nerdy acuity for data collection to drive the creation of an online audience registration tool. I basically became the liaison between the Audience Team and the online department of brilliant people who designed and built the system. I couldn’t write a line of code but I could communicate exactly what we needed in logical terms and from the experience I learned so much.

After my career at The Oprah Show ended, I seamlessly took a position initiating an immediate action business plan for organizing the audience booking process for WLS’s new local morning talk show, Windy City LIVE. After two fun years there, I left to be a stay-at-home mom to my first and only son, Gabriel Gershwin. Sometime after those sleepless infant nights and drowsy baby days, I started working with my first client, Sally Lou Loveman (formerly my supervisor at The Oprah Show).
Since then, I have successfully taught myself my way around WordPress, Photoshop, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, Canva, Convertkit, etc, etc. I have helped numerous clients with their online presence from branding and email campaigns to graphics and website builds. I especially enjoy supporting brilliant business women who are making their beautiful marks on the world. In my free time (as if!), I am usually sewing clothes, dancing or creating an adventurous life with my husband and son.

With over 15+ years of event production, project management and creative marketing experience, Becky Ahasic joins Jultap Productions as Design Consultant & Content Editor.
At age 25, after living in Chicago for over six years, she decided to drop it all and move to the Big Apple where she spent the next four years working in the media and creative marketing world. She has a bachelor’s degree from DePaul University in Communications and minor in Studio Art. In college she focused on courses in television production and journalism and after her time in NYC she decided it was time to head back to the city she loves the most (Chicago) to explore her next career move. Within months she landed her dream job back in television at The Oprah Winfrey Show where she spent almost a decade working in the Audience Department with Julie. After The Oprah Show, Becky also worked with Julie at ABC 7’s Windy City Live.
When she’s not planning events, Becky enjoys spending time cooking, exploring new restaurants and traveling the world.

Julie knew she was in “trouble” when a certain 3-year-old insisted that he needed yellow socks to match his yellow shirt. And the time he went up to a collection of paint chips for the bathroom and proceeded to toss aside most of them saying, “no, no, and no!” Or when a few years later, the same mini designer was brought to tears over his parents’ color choice for new siding on their house because he was convinced it would look terrible. (Yeah, he was absolutely right and the color was changed.)
This year, during the first lockdown of the pandemic, Gabriel decided he needed to learned PowerPoint and Canva. So, let’s just say, we have added him to the Jultap Productions team.
In his free time, Gabe enjoys dancing, Taekwondo and building with Legos.
